At Baker University, we've been delivering excellence in the classroom since 1858. Founded by a group of Methodists hoping to bring education to the fledging Kansas-Nebraska Territory, the first University in the state of Kansas was named for Osmon. C. Baker, the Kansas-Nebraska bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Today, we continue to build on the tradition of academic excellence with quality professors, bright students, and a strong commitment to innovation.
